Oasis pool & private beach.
This health resort is definately the place to kick back and undo a life times worth of self abuse to your body and mind. the resort is located on the north face of the tiny tropical island of Koh Samui. the island is easily reached by air from outside Thailand, or by bus, train & air within thailand. i recommend the short 1 hr flight from bangkok with bangkok air, comfortable and reasonably priced. health resort oasis is designed for people that need to get away from all the hustle and bustle of every day life. they offer a complete body and mind experience of health programs, detox and cleansing courses to re-energise your body, undoing a lifetimes worth of self abuse - fast food, alcohol, burning the candle at both ends lifestyle. the intimacy of this quaint resort means that you can relax to the max by the pool, on its own beach, or in the herbal steam room, or anywhere on site you feel relaxed. each client is personally greeted and taken through an induction session after check-in. they carefully go through the program most suited for your needs, and invite your questions always. miminum course - 3 and half days for the budget conscious, right up to the maximum course duration of 9 days. either keep yourself to yourself, or be part of the support culture amongst fellow resort detoxers. more info check out: www.healthoasisresort.org

being that it was my first visit to the island specifically to stay on the health resort i didnt venture to many places. but i did get to spend a couple of hours in the mountains quad biking, there's 2 quad tour companies that i found, both do tours around the island or into the mountains and one of them has a few courses you can go round. each one needing more skill. theres also sea kayaking which is amazing fun, shopping at the chaweng markets and high street. jewellery particularly good prices, but only buy from a shop not a street vendor, and watch out for the fake goods - watches, bags, clothes, elctricals and other. always have a bit of fun haggling the price down. more info check out: www.healthoasisresort.org

as i stayed on the resort for my entire trip i cant go into too much detail about other accommodation, however, in my research i found that there is a limited number of hostels for those of you that prefer this type of accommodation, costs start at 350TB per night. but, many hotels/ resorts offering accommodation from around 900TB up to 6000TB per night.
chaweng beach & lamia beach- both areas seem to be the prefered locations on the island.
