Normally nobody would intrest of San Pedro de Atacama. Litlle town in the middle of desert. But it has so reach neighbourhood, that makes it one of the favourtie travel destination in Chile.
Even few years ago it was small village. El Tatio geysers, Moon valley, Road to Quebrada del Diablo, Chuicamata with the biggest hole in the world, Lincanbur, Laguna Colorada and Salar de Uyuni transffered it into tourist mecca.
Favourite spots:
My favourite spot were El Tatio geysers. To see them in full glory you need to wake up very early, take a bus to them (it is about 50 kilemetrs and be prepared for attitude sickness.
What's really great:
I liked a lot of renting a bike and go to Quebrada del Diablo. Landscapes were so spectacular.
Accommodations:
A lot in San Pesro de Atacam, which functionned as sleeping place. So there were places for 50 USD per night till cheap places as mine.
