St. Louis travelogue picture
St. Louis is traditionally called The Gateway to the West because of it is the historical beginning from which the population of the United States migrated westward. The city has a diverse multi-cultural population and has festivals and attractions devoted to many cultures. This is one of the world's great river cities, including activities, architecture, sports, historical sites, and other aspects which draw visitors from around the world.

Favourite spots:

Gateway Arch: The world's largest man-made monument. Forest Park: Includes the Zoo, the Muny Opera, the Art Museum, The Science Museum, the History Museum, two golf courses, and 25 miles of hiking trails. LaClede's Landing: A historical district that has been renovated with shos and restaurants. Union Station: The old train station has been renovated into a mall and a five-start hotel. Annheuser-Busch Brewery: The world's largest brewery

What's really great:

My favorite area of St. Louis was Forest Park, the largest city park in the United States. This park was the site of the 1904 World's Fair, and continues to draw visitors to the city. The facilities in the park are famous.

Sights:

Gateway Arch: The Jefferson National Expansion Memorial
Forest Park: Visit the zoo and the Science Museum. There are History, Art, and other exhibits in the park, also.
Annheuser-Busch Brewery: Tours are available, daily.
Union Station: The old train depot has been renovated.

Hangouts:
The Big Bang: in The Landing area. Has dueling pianos.

Restaurants:
Trainwreck on the Landing: a sports pub/bar/restaurant. The ribs are voted the best in the city. Ostrich, alligator, buffalo, and other meats are available.
Morgan Street Brewery: This wonderful restaurant serves pastas, salads, and burgers, among other things. Plus, it is a microbrewery.
Any of the Italian restaurants in the area known as The Hill should be visited. Most of these are highly rated.

Other recommendations:
Ted Drew's Frozen Custard
St. Louis Bread Company
Busch Stadium: Home of the Cardinals
St. Louis Cathedral
