St. Mamet isn`t on most map, so much the town is small. About 1000 people live in this town. It is situated about 10 km south of Aurilac, where we found it amid the fields and narrow curving roads. Here is where we discovered one of the friendliest, cleanest and most comfortable camping sites.

The town consists of 1 Main St, and less than a dozen narrow lanes attached to it. The supermarket is more as a convenience store. The few vegetables and fruits we bought were fresh, and the bread also. There was no meat counter therefore one would have had to drive into Aurilac for any kind of meat here. Here there was also a Municipal building, a post office and what looked like a community center. The Church took the central place of the town, with it`s roman style.

There was another few municipal more modern buildings close by, yet far enough not to be part of the town itself and ruin it`s charm. The town was built in another century and kept it`s charm with it`s large dark brown bricks with which the whole town used.

| Accommodations: |

The camping of St. Mamet is great. We arrived there late in autumn, just before the site was to close down for the season. For the first night, we were the only one camped there. Since it was slightly cold outside, the manager even offered us to stay within the shower building which had a central room with dining tables and chairs, we declined, yet we were able to use freely. The manager was extremely nice and welcoming. During the summer season, there is here a pool and water slides to use.

We didn`t enter, but there was a very small pub in the town`s city center.

There are no restaurants here, except for the pub, where only pub food is available.
