In the same class as Iguassu and Niagra, the Victoria Falls is my favorite of the three. Although far to travel to, combined with surroundings is a very special place.

Birds eye-view of Victoria Falls
Birds eye-view of Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls is a tourist magnet, offers also wildlife and adventure. The falls plundge about 300ft and are about a mile wide. Also called place of the rainbow by the locals, discovered by David Livingston only in 1855 - one of the natural wonders of the world. To really appriciate the size of the falls, the local airport offers short and affordable flights over the area. More and up-to-date info at www.zimbabwetourism.co.zw

Favourite spots:
Outlook at Devils Cateract
Outlook at Devils Cateract
- outlook from the most westerly point, Devils Cateract, specially at sunrise - a walk through the rainforest (rain permanently caused by the falls)

What's really great:
Flight of the Angels
Flight of the Angels
- the 15 minute budget air charter Flight of the Angels - african music at the hotel poolside evenings - swapping t-shirts for souveniers in the village

Sights:
Livingstone Group
Livingstone Group

- Statue of Livingstone

- Victoria Falls National Park (a lot of elephants!)

- tribal village

- up-river Zambezi banks

Accommodations:
The Victoria Falls Hotel, also a large camping site with rentable huts.

Other recommendations:
Furious Dumbos

Because of its wayout position, consider combining a visit to the falls with that to the Chobe National Park and/or Okovango Swamps.

This report has some great pictures, that elephant is amazing! What's it like to see those monsterous creatures so close? I mean, not behind bars at the zoo...
