good health and high spirits!

I was just checking over some of the comments in new pic comments and for the most part I'm in agreement with most comments.. however, Rangutan's comment to Davidx over this pic,

http://www.globosapiens.net/jesusferro/picture-the-tower-of-the-discoveries-32809.html

"David seriously - take a course in photography or follow basic guidlines & please help us concentrate on better quality & COMPETITIVE PHOTOGRAPHY! Jesus, nice shot but your other snaps are much better." Rangutan.

just proved my point that people are losing sight of what that Globo is: An informative travel site as opposed to a competitive photography site.

Granted the pic is not a great one but regardless of the quality of the photo it shows something informative of a place. Yes Davidx should put up a better picture but he did show something informative about a place.

If you want to be competitive go to these sites where you can critique all you want.

I'm sure Rangutans comment probably just cost a few members willingness to post some pretty terrific pictures of places unique and unknown to other members. I sure would think twice before posting a picture on Globo in fear that some may not think it's "competitive" enough for Globo!!

My 2 cents!!

Tashi,

Well said. I couldn't agree more. Some comments are overdone and take away all pleasure.

An apology to both jesusferro and davidx would not be misplaced.

Hello Tashy, Marianne,

I do agree completly with both your posts. That posting by rangutan is way out of line. Tashy is right, we are not about competition in such a way rudis post was indicating. It should be fun and pleasure to post pictures. After all the picture was taken and uploaded with good intentions. If the picture would not have met the overall quality guidelines at GLOBO, I would have deleted it anyway. I think this is an ok shot taken from the bus and I am happy that this picture has been shared among our "TRAVEL" community. So, yes rangutan I believe there is a deep appology due to both of them!

I did not want to delete those posts since I believe that this ratings are an excellent example how it should not be on GLOBO. Everyone should be free to post his/her TRAVEL pictures here. The main purpose is fun, a hobby. Not for competition. Martin has a point about his "enthusiast" theory.

Enough said about this in a bit off topic way. Any further discussions needed should be continued inside the "internal" forum. That topic shall be continued with my apologies to this interuption.

Best regards,

Andy
