A flash will always create a shadow like a portrait against a wall! Good [sunlight] light is seldom enough therefore flash shots specially with depth much better and unavoidable!

and... another one...
The UW cases use different button setup, so things like "zoom in" suddenly is "zoom out"... it get's me every time.
oh, and let's not forget. handling the UW case with 3 to 5 mm neoprene gloves. That really is annoying...
and yet another one, TTL camera's really do not work, since you wouln't be able to see through it.
and to top all of that... making mistakes during preptime can cost you your camera. Electronics and seawater do not mix... As it says in teh uwcase manual "one hair or one grane of sand is all it takes"
Cheers,
Maurice

Members, Underwater photography is extremely difficult:
- special water tight camera
- reflections and refractions are very different
- mobility and handelling are restricted
- sunlight is less or scarce
- finding the subject

hey Rangutan,
My problem is not with creating shadows of subjects I photograph. That's normal.
This is what bothers me most about my camera:
My underwater casing is big... compared to the camera. and the design is bad. When I flash I get the shadow of the UWcasing in my photos. The casing is built with a big bulge to house the lens... the flash is too close to the lens and creates a shadow of the housing.
I am looking for new camera gear for next season. Any suggestions?
Maurice
