Elbląg and Gdańsk was completely destroyed during the war of World War II. In the Gdańsk Old Town has been rebuilt. Currently, Elblag rebuilds its old city. Elblag Canal is unique in the world, because other similar waterways - Morissa Canal (New Jersey, USA) - is not open for a long time. Another notable issue is that the builder Elbląg Canal - Eng. Steenke - has applied original technology, which is different from those known from the Morris Canal.

I am leaving early tomorrow morning to Frombork. This is a city in Warmia and Mazury in Braniewo district. In the village there is a sea port and maritime border. Tourism is one of the most important sources of income of the inhabitants of Frombork. The main strengths of this city are monuments and good hotel facilities and restaurants.
It was in Frombork that the astronomer wrote his epochal work, De revolutionibus orbium cślestium. Shortly after its 1543 publication, Copernicus died there and was buried in the town's cathedral, where his grave was thought to have been found by archaeologists in 2005.

Yesterday, in the port and on the beach in Ustka, on the Baltic coast of Poland, a lot of people waited for a 20-meter tall wave. A local newspaper published an article that a tsunami was going to hit Ustka. Two visionary ladies from Łódź, central Poland, notified authorities of the coastal towns between Świnoujście and Ustka of the threat. Most officials adopted a mockery of this information. However, scientists have taken it seriously and explained that the seabed of the Baltic hides methane gas in its solid state and an explosion of it (triggered by an earthquake for example) can indeed cause tsunamis. Such a case occurred several times, the most written about occurrence took place in 1497. The coastal village of Darłówek was completely destroyed by a massive wave. Other known tsunamis that hit the Polish coast happened in the 18th century.
On 16 December 2008, the earthquake in Ystad, Sweden was felt all the way across the sea in Poland. However the quake did not trigger a tsunami. Yesterday, people waited in vain for the big wave. It is a curious case. From one point of view, people treated the visions with a pinch of salt or a lot of salt, in fact, and ignored the warning. From the other, they did act somewhat irresponsibly. Tsunamis usually mean awful tragedies to the places they hit, killing people and leaving masses homeless. If the tsunami did hit, they would almost certainly be killed.

Krys, Fred and Tony, I envy you the snow in your town. During the night a lot of snow fell. However, there is no frost and snow will not remain long. I did a photos, will be the proof that it was a white winter in 2009 in Ustka.
I always wanted to live where there is always warm, but when is the white fluffy snow, forget about my dreams.
