Banda-Neira - Indonesia, Maluku Tranquil, little Bandaneira is the capital town of the Banda Islands, that were once the World's only source of nutmeg, and therefore the scene of much fighting between the Portuguese, the Dutch and the English. It is full of relics of the colonial era: forts, cannons and beautiful colonial homes. Bandneira is also extremely scenic, complete with an active volcano, and the surrounding coral reefs
