I see your point. It would take way too much time to change all that. It still makes sense with just province instead of state. --- Wunderkind

Another two words we might consider improving:
1) "Pictures" where all the competitive photographs are should be called "Gallery" like on most other websites. This change then shows:
a) that it is not the only place for pictures; reports, tips, log too.
b) indicates quality and artistic value
c) might help reduce uploaded personal snaps there
d) more international, only some call photos "pictures"
2) "suggest a new city" should be "suggest a new place" and "city" should be "city/town"
Not urgent but to be considered. Important for external viewers and new members.

Hi Ethan
The phone number one is easy - just type in a string of 0s. I do that a lot for 'secret places,' though often a good website can be found.
I do agree with you about free places and I hope Andy finds it easy to add an extra choice.

Hi Staff
Has not bothered me for years but should be fixed some day, there is an extra apostrophe and "s" between the picture titles and the members name in the bar above a picture.
See www.globosapiens.net/travellog/rangutan 2007-01-11 for a screen shot example.
Also, the GLOBOdatabank shows "Burma" (old name) instead of "Myanmar" (new name).

.... I hope the two points above from January can be fixed one day!
Another one, the Italian lakes "Lago d'Xxx" are spelt with a second space "Lago d' Xxx", perhaps all Latin lake names like that, so that they are not found when searching.
Example "Lago d'Orta".

Hello everybody,
thank you for the hints on spelling mistakes and the other recommendations for development features. I wanted to let you know that we will see new development and fixes starting mid October 2007. Until then only critical errors can be fixed.
Best regards,
andy

Andy,
That is good news. Can you let us know what kind of new features and can we suggest some?Marianne --- “I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” Robert Louis Stevenson

Hello Marianne,
all I can say is that development will pick up in mid October as currently blocked resources for development will become available again. Like always valuable member suggestions will find it's way into GLOBOsapiens. I would like to postpone a discussion on that specific topic until October. Stay tuned.
Regards, Andy

Improving the face of GLOBO a suggestion is that (for example) "Voted 17 times" is replaced by "Rated 17 times" so that no more confusion and arguments exist in the controversial rating matter.
voting = one ballot per person = votes simply summed up = TOTAL
rating = voluntary grading p.p = all ratings are weighted = AVERAGE
This might be the reason why some members rate everything ***** thinking that means 5 votes! Rating rather is the average opinion of the community. It always helps to rate, even if from the heart and guts, sometimes against the grain, no problem. Not rating at all does not help the relevant member, neither the community or general visitor from the web. Rating (rather than a bland compliment) often says enough even if an mediocre ** or *** --- Rudolf "Rangutan" Graspointner
