Myanmar and Laos...

Hi Amanda,
So, you decided to defer going to Myanmar and Laos. I have not been to Myanmar, but I am sure that together with Laos, one could spend almost two weeks in the region to see the highlights properly. I am sure, you will come back to Indochina to see them on a separate occasion.
All the best with the plans for Cambodia and Vietnam. I think it might be possible to get a visa on arrival in both countries - I think each borders give 2 weeks. Although Vietnam did not do that for all nationalities, and you would need a special arrangement made by an accredited travel office.
When I went, a considerably long time ago, Cambodia stamped new visas on both airports - Vientiane and Siem Reap (you needed a photo or two, but there was a photographer on site).
Vietnamese officials demanded that I filled out a medical declaration and wanted 2,000 dong (but they did not give me a receipt - so maybe it was a 'bribe') and it had to be paid in LOCAL currency! Get some, Amanda.
