Hi Petra, thank you for your comment. Yes, the Mariendom is at first a shock: Entering the church you seem to stand in a marketplace with balconies around it, but when you discover that you are in a tent, you start reading it: God's folk is wandering on earth needing a tent, it is not a closed society but stands on the marketplace to show its believe. Cardinal Frings was nearly blind at the time, he only could see with his hands, but as a promoter of Vatikan II, he must have been glad to get such a proposal of the architect Böhm.

Hi Petra,
I loved you album on Berlin. You really covered so many aspects of the city and there are many wonderful photos in it, pics I had not seen before. I wish there was a way to rate photo albums!

Thank you for a very nice collection of pictures from Berlin. You know, I come to Berlin quite often. I have family there, and seeing Berlin through your lens is great.
