Hi Petra,

Many thanks for your recent comments. I love The Gambia so much. The people are so friendly there and there some great places to hide there and forget about the world.

Kindest regards
Krys

looking into the past

Hi Petra, I have had a look at your site and found it most interesting,I have a request that you may ignore if you so wish but I have no one else to ask. In the 1950's I met a girl in the east end of London who was from Germany on a sponsored holiday and I have often wondered what became of her. her name was Rosvita Cimala and her address was Meirviesenstrasse 58 Manhiem Germany. Excuse me the spelling is not exactly correct but it was a long time ago!. Would it be possible to trace her?. Kindest regards. Tony (jacko1)

Hi Petra,

Thanks to Petra for the comment to my photoes with Amalfi and the Corinthian Canal. I also very with pleasure remember Greece and Italy. Photoes succeeded, because was the sunshine. On the weather however we have not the influence :-). For example in Barcelona fell the rain, in Prague, Bratislava, Vienna and Budapest were cloud bank and the mist, so it is visible on photoes , but places are beautiful , and photoes remind nice moments.
Best regards,

Cape Verde

Thank you Petra for your comments on my pix from Cabo Verde. I was very pleased to see you decided to send one of the photos to your son!

And regarding my profile picture... I was looking into maybe uploading a different one, but I like the present one very much. It reminds me of Rapa Nui (Easter Island), where I took it. It had been a great dream of mine to travel to Rapa Nui and so I attach great sentimental value to it.

There are still a few places where I really would love to go, like The Great Wall, New Zealand, Bhutan and Antarctica (I could call this destination another dream of mine), so when I eventually go there, I will replace the profile picture then. How's that sound? :)

Kindest regards
Krys

Hi Petra,

Many thanks indeed for your kind words. I think it was an exciting year... I really enjoyed contributing and chatting to members.

Now, I cannot wait for the weekend to kick off. I would like to create a few more African albums at Globo.

Kindest regards
Krys

Hi Petra
Thank You for the comment on my pic. I was seeing herons nests everywhere but now you have got me thinking maybe those 2 are storks.Do you think the date stamp spoils the picture a little? I thought your pic inside the Reichstag was ace, keep up the good work,Fred.

Bobo-Dioulasso

Posted: 2009-01-21 11:20 AM
Hi Petra,

The mosque in Bobo, and many others in the region, including the largest mud structure in the world - The Grand Mosque in Djenne, Mali, have the wooden 'needles' in them, so after the rainy season the mud can be re-applied on the structure by standing on them.

Kindest regards
Krys
