One of my favorite spots to visit in the Canadian west is Abbotsford, in the province of British Columbia. When I lived in the Seattle area, the trip to Abbotsford allowed my family to take a nice weekend trip. Now, I have taken my present wife there to show her the scenery. Abbotsford is located along the scenic Fraser River valley in the southern part of the province. Just outside of town are some wonderful views of Mt. Baker and the coastal mountains (the Cascades in Washington). Although there seems to be little to do in the city, the fishing and the skiing that are available in the area make for a wonderful visit.

Two of my favorite sites to visit are the Mt. Baker Ski Area resort and the Mill Lake. There are some great rainbow trout that can be found in the lake for those who like to fish.
