Addis Abeba is a big city where everything is available. The cities traffic is busy but the drivers are not driving like maniacs and so driving is fearly relaxed. In the market area you have to watch the sheeps and donkeys that can cross your path. Good supermarkets are present but prices are not low. We stayed at the Bell Air Hotel which is pretty basic. Air is clean in Addis because it is over 2000 meters high.

Favourite spots: |
Dutch Embassy (because of the airco...)and the newly contructed road going north with it's great views over the city.

|
What's really great: |
Friendly people and the good food which is widely available tru out the city. This city is not as hostile as most African cities can be towards foreigners. Ferangi's are treated here with more curtisy than elsewhere in the country.

Approximately how many people live here? Is the city built with sky scrapers.. or is it smaller buildings.. Historical buildings perhaps? Are the people friendlier to foreigners because there are more foreigners in this city? Are there any museum? Art of some kind?
Thanks..
Keep writing great reports..
