Lalibela is in the middle of nowhere. I got off the plane , well I felt lazy, and i was the only one who did. It all seemed so small and sleepy. A little hussle from one or two which is to be expected.

Favourite spots: |
The rock hewn churches are simply magnificent. Sometimes the things that man does are inspiring and these are. The market was excellent. People from the surrounding area all come in to trade and to gossip.

What's really great: |
Being on top of the mountain behind Lalibela just as the sun came up. It was a struggle getting up there, I am not fit, but worth it. ...and yes we did use a few mules as well...

Sights: |
The churches. Any of the religious festivals that are held there. Timquat especially.
