My sole goal for visiting Tanzania was, besides transiting towards Kenya, wanting to see the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti Plains. Although the fees are rediculously high I must say that it was worth it. Nearly getting stuck with our 4x4 near a large pride of lions was great. On the Serengeti Plains we first thought to see it splattered with dark rocks. These rocks appeared to be Wildebeasts... Camped at Dik Dik campsite all on our own with a dozen elephants to accompany us. Truly great!

Favourite spots: |
The route towards the Crater's rim from the entrance gate starts with the lush vegetation and a slippery muddy road. From the start you find yourself in a different world. The first overview of the Crater is breathtaking. 20 K's in diameter and packed with wildlife.

What's really great: |
Although we visited these Parks in the wet season we can nevertheless imagine how this small eco-system must function year round. The vastness and wide open spaces can do nothing else then attract us. We will definitly come back!

"We will definitly come back!" It's the same we thought while looking over the rim of Ngorogo. |
