Oakwood Apartments, Trilliant, Sukhumvit 18, Bangkok, a studio room in which I stayed for one month in January 2011. I booked through Agoda online and paid approximately $60 per night.

This hotel apartment complex is ideally situated in Bangkok and close to the Asoke sky train station. The staff and facilities are excellent. Highly recommended as value for money. So rather than say how good it is, which it was I would like to just point out some of the problems and there were only 3 in total after a stay of one month ...
(1) The walls are paper thin
(2) The pool on the roof is of a poor design as are it's facilities or lack thereof...cheap umbrellas that easily fall over with the slightest breeze. The staff ignore the roof pool area for some reason it does not exist? they do not check the towels or take away rubbish... they have a large putting area ? (golf) that is a complete and utter waste of space and is not surprisingly NOT used. They could easily use this space for more sunbathing chairs or normal table and chairs to sit at, of which there are NONE ! Finally NO phone, toilet or changing room...
(3) the METRO CAFE on the ground floor is excellent but always empty, no wonder with an unusual and unfair mandatory 80 baht service charge.... food is excellent but prices way too high given they are on a few steps away from hundreds of cheap thai food outlets...
Worth a mention was Vizivo Car Hire Bangkok and Chang Mai ( excellent once again) book online these guys are unreal and their customer service outstanding..
Try Oakwood and see.

Favourite spots: |
Au Bon Pain ( great salmon bagels ) a short walk away and of the amazing Paragon Shopping Complex, has to be the best in the world

What's really great: |
Most things, especially the thai people. The prices are not cheap in bangkok of course if you stay in the tourist spots, but for example if you eat Thai food street side then a whole meal and a beer for $5
