Although I spent a couple of weeks in Romania with friends, we didn't do much touristy stuff, so I can't describe all of that. Still, Bucharest is a really cool city to walk/bus/drive around. There were some really neat playgrounds with huge slides and seesaws that we don't have in the US. We found a small park where there weren't many people, and we enjoyed playing on the playground there but we heard that it was illegal. If you go out into the country a bit, there are beautiful sunflower fields and pretty houses. There are pretty houses inside the city too, and it's fun to walk around through old neighbourhoods and admire. There are lots and lots of dogs, including many strays, but they all seemed friendly enough. We took public transportation everywhere, and that worked pretty well except you couldn't always find a seat. There seemed to be plenty of internet cafes, too.

Favourite spots: |
The parks, little stores that were all over, churches--everything we saw in the city was cool.

What's really great: |
The people were all so beautiful, and everyone was really nice to us. I loved the beautiful stained glass in houses, and there was some good shopping (antiques, china, clothes, etc). There was a lot of good candy and ice cream that I can't find here at home.

Sights: |
The People's Palace, the fountains, sunflower fields out in the country. Take the train out to Sinaia and see the beautiful mountains and castles.

|
Accommodations: |
We stayed in a private house. It was in a pretty nice neighbourhood, and it was great to be able to go to the store every day and cook whatever we wanted.

This is a good description. What made you go to Bucharest? Did you visit friends? You must know this city pretty well. Where else did you go?
