Most of us write reports about nice places, but it also may be interesting to know where not to go. Please allow me to use the space in the other sections as well to tell what happened to me in Ilia.Riding our motorbikes we came from Bucarest on our way to Hungaria. After a long day we were looking for a hotel with a parking, because in Romania you don't leave your bike in the street. Finally riding into Ilia we found a hotel with what could be called a parking lot. We were tired so we checked into the hotel without having a look at the rooms first. I've stayed in many hotels, but this one was by far the worst I've ever seen. It was probably built in the 50's. Since than nothing was ever done to it, let alone cleaning. The room was a disaster. I seriously thought of taking off the taps, because of their antiquity value, but with my health in mind I did not even wanted to touch them. The drain in the shower was just a hole in the ground filled with years of filth.

Favourite spots: |
What was left of the carpet was stained with God knows what. The sheets and blankets stank. I first thought that the pillow had sort of a faded flower design, but it turned out to be drool and other stains. So I decided not to shower, not even brush my teeth, not to undress, lay a towel over the pillow and go downstairs to get a beer. A bottle, no glass, thank you.Thinking about what the kitchen would look like, we also decided not to eat. Sitting on the terrace I got to talk to a Turk who spoke fluently Dutch. After a while two beautiful young ladies of about twenty years joined our table. One sat next to me and spoke fairly good Spanish, so I got to talk to her. Pretty soon she started rubbing my knee with hers. Travelling you learn not to jump to conclusions too soon. So I asked the Turk if they were family. I mean, if I would have asked him if they were hookers and they would have turned out to be his daughters that may have caused a painfull situation.

What's really great: |
They were not family, so I asked him if they were what I thought they were. He nodded yes. I turned out that at the other side of the road was a trucker's stop, Ilia lying on the main road from Bucarest to Hungaria. If, after a long hard drive, their hormones got into turbo, the ladies would be willing to service them for 20 D.M., no condom. You can probably guess were this activity toke place and were it had taken place many times. My room …!! So if you're looking for cheap dangerous sex, go to Ilia. Otherwise stay as far away from it as you can.
