The home of Joyce, Wilde, the Guinness beer and the Georgian doors... the first and the third of my three trips to Ireland, and certainly not the last one!
|
I went to Dublin for the first time in October 2001, for a two-week English course. I was interested in everything about the Emerald Isle and now wanted to go there and to see it. My first impressions of Ireland are quite stereotypical, I think: lots and lots of rain (I got totally wet on my first afternoon there), green grass and beer. During my first visit there, I didn't do much of sightseeing, I was more on shopping at this time, but during my second visit in mid-September 2002, I went to the Guinness Brewery, Dublin Castle, St Stephen's Green Park, Glasnevin Cemetery and Smithfield Village (I highly recommend everything!).
