After flying over the beautiful Rocky Mountians we settled onto the runway in Great Falls. It was February and not as cold as you would think! The sun was shining, the wind was blowing a little and it was a lovely winters day.

Favourite spots: |
I was excited to visit the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. This is a jam packed information mother lode! They even have a display of the portage! You can visit a lecture on skills needed by the Corps of Discovery, learn about specific members of the corp and see some authentic clothing.

What's really great: |
The view from the center shows the Missouri River and some of the falls encountered by the corp members. It was covered in ice, glittering in the sun and absolutely marvelous. The the clouds came in and the mood of the river changed.

The Charlie Russel Museum is a treat. There is also a lot of great places to shop. We were also treated to a dancing demonstration by a Native American dance club and a concert from the music group Ringling 5.

Restaurants: |
There is a Golden Corral there and you can have the fresh buffet meal. The lunch fed our group well enough that we saved the cost of dinner that night!

Other recommendations: |
We visited the Hutterite colony. This is a well run farm colony inhabited by the Hutterites. They have about the cleanest egg and poultry proudction I have ever seen. There is a school on the farm and we were able to visit with the children and they sang some lovely songs for us. Such angles!
