This was our first but definitely not our last trip to Bonaire. It was the friendliest, most comfortable island we have visited. Not to mention that the snorkeling from shore is totally AWESOME!
Sunset as seen from the terrace of our villa
For a full trip report visit http://bonaire-02-20-04.tripod.com Bonaire is the B of the ABC Islands (A = Aruba and C = Curacao). It is the least developed and is perfect for a quiet getaway. The snorkeling can't be beat as there are over 60 marked dive sites accessible from shore many of which also have great snorkeling. Bonaire is out of the hurricane belt so that is one less thing to worry about.
Favourite spots:
A school of fish at Lac Bay
Anywhere in the water but especially the reef off of Klein Bonaire. The sunset cruise on the Woodwind trimaran is totally awesome - gliding soundlessly over the water as the sun sets.
What's really great:
A baby donkey that lived in our neighborhood
The people are wonderful - friendly and helpful. The free-roaming donkeys are awfully cute too.
Sights:
A Hawksbill Turtle seen off Klein Bonaire
The drift snorkel from LaDania's Leap to Karpata is awesome as is the drift snorkel off Klein Bonaire.
Accommodations:
The living room of the villa
Crown Courts 44A is a fabulous private villa - pricey but worth it!
