In March I left rainy Germany to go to Paris, France, for a couple of days. After a few hours drive form Germany: Bon soir, Paris!! During my stay I climbed up the Eiffel Tower, went shopping on the Champs-Elysses, saw the Mona Lisa picture at the Louvre museum and lot´s more!

Favourite spots: |
definetely the approach to the eiffel tower across the seine river, les halles (huge shopping mall), champs-elysses, l´arc de triomphe, l´ile de la cité.... so many pretty spots around paris!

What's really great: |
i enjoyed climbing all the steps up to the top of the eiffel tower to have a wonderful view over paris on a sunny saturday afternoon

Eiffel Tower, Louvre museum, La Defense, Les Halles, Champs-Elysses, Galeries Lafayettes, Centre Pompidou... and so on

Quality Inn in Paris-Nanterre
it´s a little in the outskirts but very close to the RER train station and you can get to the Arc de triomphe in about 10 minutes. very friendly personnel, good breakfast

Other recommendations: |
not far away from the sorbonne university in the middle of paris, there´s a beautiful park where little kids had small boats to float on the water and people just came to relax... awesome atmosphere. i think it was not far away from the senate´s building. thanks to marianne: it was the jardin du luxembourg! it´s so pretty! definetely a nice little place you should see!

You had some lovely days. Was this your first visit to Paris? You definitely saw all the first class tourist sights. Very brave to walk up the Eiffel Tower. The garden with all the kids and their small boats is jardin du Luxembourg. |
