Paris is candy for the eyes. Everyone has a cell phone, dogs run around unleashed, and the ones on leashes are often sitting in the labs of their owners at the outdoor bars. Businessmen sometimes roller blade to work. The smells can sometimes be overpowering in a not so pleasant way, but that comes of all the traffic and the pooches. The people are just tolerant of tourists, but who can blame them. Tourists are there every day, and therefore make up a part of the daily landscape. Parisians are never alone.

Favourite spots: |
Gazing into the pastry shop windows was a delight. The art galleries were my favourite spot.

What's really great: |
Coming out of the subway station in a different area of Paris was exciting.
Sights: |
Apart from the Champs Elysees, the view from the old cathedral in Monmartre was the best.
Accommodations: |
I stayed at 4 youth hostels. My favourite, despite the stairs I had to climb with a backpack, was the one in Montparnasse - the one that called itself American.
