In the city of Poitiers, there's a themepark called Futuroscope. The whole idea is give you a range fascinating movie-experiences in many different movie-theaters.
The themepark is marked by it's really special architecture. It has all kinds of special buildings, completely different from eachother. In the buildings are very large screens build in all kinds of ways. Semi-sphere's, 7-floor high screens as well in front of you as under your feet, while watching through a glass floor. 3D experiences like nowhere else (truely, they have theathers which are unique in the whole world).

Favourite spots: |
The park is not the only place for special architecture. Many buildings, which surround the park, also have special forms. It is truely something to go and visit, if it only was for the buildings itself.
What's really great: |
The theather I liked most was one where you could see astronauts work in MIR. The movie was projected on a semi-sphere of IMAX-format. You had to wear those special 3D glasses to watch everything in space in 3D...which is the most awsome viewing I've ever had!!

Sights: |
Outside (but inside the park), there's this tower in which you get lifted up to the hight of 45 meters. At that altitude you get a good viewing of the park, certainly when the tower starts to turn on its own, slowely.
Accommodations: |
Around the park, there are many hotels where you can stay for average rates and have good rooms.
You can get to the park by high speed train or simply by car.
We took the TGV (high speed train) to Poitiers (city) and took the bus towards the park. The bus stops right next to the door of the park, so you don't have to walk long distances.
