Burg Satzvey (in Satzvey) is a great Castle! There, Shops are spread all over the Castle, Games and tournaments are held, and Bits of pieces of history can be found everywhere. To think we made a 3-4 hour drive there, It was great!

Burg Satzvey has been owned by the Family of Beissel von Gymnich for over 300 years now. The Castle was build ca. 1396, but the Castle walls were much older! Their shops are wonderful, so if you've come a long way, waited a long time (you need reservations!), and paid everything but cheap money for the entrance fee, then open your wallet and buy souvenirs as soon as you can!

Favourite spots: |
My favorite spots were in Burg Satzvey, and they were the shops! No, I haven't mad, nor do I like shopping, but their clothes and item quality was so great! They have things like Amuletts, rings, other magic items, Elvish and medieval clothes shops, Swords, daggers, armor etc. spread all over! Once you've used your ticket, you can't go back out again, but you can also buy drinks and foods! Of course, you wouldn't have to use medieval privies, they have normal bathrooms too (oh, thank goodness!).

What's really great: |
I liked the play that they held there. It was sort of a drama, they were trying to figure out who killed the Earl of *** (I don't know the name right now, but once I have it, this report will too). They did tournaments with horses, swords, jousting, fighting etc.. Burg Satzvey will be worth your while, especially the more you open your wallet!

Accommodations: |
There are some Land-gasthöfe where you can stay, maybe even some Hotels!

|
Other recommendations: |
There's an Animal Park near Satzvey (no, it isn't quite a zoo). It's not too special, but it would kill a lot of time though...!
