Paris - France, Ile-de-France The Flame of Liberty is a gold-leaf-covered, replica of the new flame at the upper end of the torch carried in the hand of the Statue of Liberty which stands on Ellis Island in New York City. The flame has became an unofficial memorial for Diana, Princess of Wales after her 1997 death as it is above the tunnel in which she lost her life. Pont de l'Alma.
