I agree Beijing is a great city my husband and I have been a number of times now. The first was in 1986 and the most recent 2002. Each time we saw masses of changes, but from the very first trip we found the local people warm, friendly and very keen to make friends. Give it a try, I am sure you won't be disappointed.
