This is strictly a shopping town, but worth going to. What is neat about this area is there are Mayan Indians everywhere in the traditional dress. Be careful about photographs. It gets really annoying to them, but if you ask, they will usually let you take a picture. This market is HUGE so plan for the day to be there. There are all sorts of really special things to buy here from masks to knives, pottery to art work, nick nacks to vases, etc.

I enjoyed sitting on the stairs to the church and watching the busy market down below. It can be such mayhem there with everyone bartering, buying, and selling that it makes for a lot of fun to watch it without being involved.

|
Seeing the Mayan clothing and the detail that goes into each peice of clothing. I also think it is fun to haggle with prices and you can get a lot of practice here!

| Accommodations: |
|
We didn't stay here (we took a bus from Lake Atitlan) but I did see a sign for a hostel. There really isn't much to do here other than shop.
