Fredericton is the capital of New Brunswick. The city law has regulations about building in city center, which must keep their historical origin and looks, resulting in the city keeping most of it's cultural beauty.

From the Regent St wharf to the trail bridge, is where you'll be find the Fredericton Lighthouse Museum, The Soldiers Barrack, The York-Sunbury Historical Society Museum and many more.
What's really great:
The York-Sunbury Historical Society Museum building was built between 1839 and 1840. It was originally used as The Military Compound Officer's Quarters Building until it was established as a museum. The Museum now constitute the largest private collection (Owned by the Historical Society) of artifacts in the province. You'll also discover a replica of a WWI trench built on the second floor of the building.
Sights:
The Fredericton Lighthouse Museum has impressive sea and naval related paintings. Situated by the Saint John River, if you climb to the top one gets a wonderful view.
Other recommendations:
Fredericton is alive with young people as it is a major University city as well as a the capital. Therefore many pubs, bars, hip-hop restaurants and guided tours for museums and assorted historical sites can be found.
