The city of Kassel is lying just in the middle of Germany. I vistited it serveral times, because it has a lot to offer. There are a lot of culture events there, and if you drive out of the city, you can hike in wonderful big woods.

If you come form the ICE-station in Kassel-Wilhelmshöhet-he first thing, that you will see is the big avenue coming from the city-center and pointing right towards the castle of Kassel and the Herkules ointing towards you. If there`s good weather you must!!! have a wallk up this hill (for some it might be more than a hill) to the Herkules, where you have a wonderful view over Kassel and the suburbs. The city-center is also quite nice, but you shouldn`t waste the time here with shopping. Instead you should visit one of the museums that Kassel has to offer. Close to the so called Fulderauen you will find the Orangerie. This place is also worth to spend some time at.

My favourite spot is the Bergpark. This is, where you will find the castle and the Herkules. If you want, and have the chance, you can go by car up to the hilltop and Herkules. But I would recommend to walk up from the castle. Yes, it can be hard, but the nice park, that is lying in front of you is it worth. I don`t know the exact dates, but I think the first sunday in the months they let the waterfalls run. These are called the Watergames of the park. They can`t let the waterfalls fall :) everyday, because the rocks are already singned by the erosion. Just under the Herkules there`s also a small castle that was build like a ruin. Strange feeling of trend they had ;)

I think what makes Kassel special is the ordinary nature that it has to offer and also the wonderful culture.

There are some nice restaurants in the side-streets of Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe. The bummer is, that they are quite expensive.
