capitol lake
Olympia is almost like any other small town in northern america; quiet, compact -- and also their almost similar distinguish smell (the blend of grocery store smell, the carpet worn by seasons, shampoo, woods and leaves). this is the place where i sleep on grass for the first time. But bear in mind, there are not that many days you can rest outdoor -- for umbrella is a great challenge for fashion designer to cope with.
Favourite spots:
the the capitol lake and the hazy silhouette of mt. reinier somewhere far.
What's really great:
people smile a lot, even the gothic one ;) 'hi' is quite a magic word here.
Sights:
the capitol and the lake surround it, just marvelous. although, it seemed there are no one around... so quiet.
Accommodations:
i stayed at a friend's house and at the campus dorm for one month. but there are plenty of hotels, motels (you know, the american chain-hotel-brand), and some resorts for skiing.
Restaurants:
sea food paradise, with a view by the Olympics. but though, i ate mostly in the campus cafeteria :)
