Catch the train to Ireland via Holyhead and there's a fair chance you'll pass through Prestatyn, and if you read the guide books that's all they assume anyone does - pass through and keep going. But this sleepy town where the local accent sounds more Liverpudlian than Welsh is home.
Favourite spots:
The view from the top of Gwaenysgor Hill, with the North Wales coast laid out at your feet as the distant mountains of Snowdonia glisten in their snow covered jackets
What's really great:
The sea maybe a little too murky to swim in, but I can sit for hours on the sea wall watching the boats sail towards the distant Mersey lights...
Sights:
The view from Gwaenysgor Hill
Accommodations:
You can't all stay with my parents, so you'll have to head for the Pontins Holiday Camp by the beach. Or bring a tent, we have plenty of fields...
Restaurants:
The Indian restaurant that used to be a pool hall and was originally a church - great food, funky decor!
I loved getting a little glimpse of somewhere not featured in the guidebooks (why should Paris and London and Rome get ALL the press?). Your sensitive observation makes it special.
Hi Paul, I like the way you write your reports. I also read the one about Sydney and are appreciated for these 'Non-Touristic-Tips'. What about some photos? Have a good time, Christian
It makes people want to go there just to meet funny inhabitants like you - whose hospitality seems obvious (are you sure your parents can't host us all? :-))
