I have my heart with San Francisco

San Francisco is America’s favorite city. The City, how often call San Francisco local residents has it all-panoramic hills for the romance, cable cars with bell contest, the cooling mystic fog in the summer time, Golden Gate bridge…

The Trasamerican Bulding from Russian Hill
The Trasamerican Bulding from Russian Hill
Surround by water on thee sides; the city charms its residents and visitors with magnificent views, quaint Victorian houses, and unusual semi tropical semi marine climate; -the average temperature – 65F,with the coldest month-July through August-very milky foggy and misty. The city often referred with Wild West, Gold Rush, Barbary Coast and hippie ”Flower People” movement in the 60-th and 70-th with Height Ashbury district-the center of hippie sub culture. The most liberal in USA in every aspect: From gay liberation (the most largest gay population per capita in the world!) With rainbow flags trimming rows of streetlights in Castro district, and the largest homeless population per capita in the country through multi million dollar mansions in Pacific Heights with magnificent bay views. The City has it all-“Only in San Francisco”-from the elegance and absurd to glamour.
The best time to visit :from april to June or from the second part of September to late October.

Favourite spots:
Golden Gate Park Flower Gardens

“Seating on the edge of the bay, waiting for the time roll away”, and also I Like to spend 24/7 strolling in Golden Gate Park-the 1,017 acre oasis of trees and plants from all parts of the world. The park has numerous ponds, The Stow Lake with a pagoda and waterfall, where locals and visitors can rent boats for an hour or two and of coarse million paths for a pleasant walk. Also The Fort Funston –the oasis of seashore and dunes with a miles and miles of endless vistas. There I like to spend hours walking with my dog Rocky-vivid “outdoorsman”, enjoying the beach and fresh salted breezes from mighty Pacific Ocean. The nature of Stern Grove with its lake and eucalyptus trees attracts my visit almost every day. And I almost forgot the beauty of Lake Merced; - is defiantly my favorite spot; -in my opinion the most beautiful neighborhood in San Francisco.

What's really great:
Chinatown Gate on Bush street
Chinatown Gate on Bush street
Panoramic hills so steep that you can see from for a 100 miles on a clear crispy especially in the wintertime. The compactness of the City, I can move from one end to another end of the city within 25-30 minutes (of course by my private car or by public transportation). The City has the best public cervices in the country; -from buses to trolley cars, from street cars to underground railway called BART-The Bay Area Rapid Transit, that can take you to near by towns in no time. And they all are very clean and efficient –with stops on almost every corner. I don’t even mention the numerous taxicabs in every corner of the city (even London black cabs). Special people from all parts of the world live side by side on very compact area. The City is a melting pot for all religions and all colors, A blend of Beijing (Chinatown with the largest Chinese population outside China), Rome (North Beach-a little Italy) and Moscow(Richmond District), and restaurants, reasaurants, and restaurants.

Sights:
Alcatraz Island-a million dollar view former prison.

The City By The Bay has numerous interesting sights to visit: Alamo Square with elegant
Colorfully painted Victorians, Alcatraz Island-“The Rock” infamous former prison home to criminals such as Al Capone, Machine Gun Kelly, The Mission District murals 0n 24 street, Chinatown with the largest Chinese population outside China and the largest Buddhist Temple in the country, The United Nations Plaza-the birth place of United Nations, The Broadway, Palace of Legion of Honor, Fishermans, Cliff House at Point Lobos-the San Francisco first tourist attraction, Crookedest street in the World?-Lombard street.

Accommodations:
Westin St .Francis Hotel and Dewey Monument

San Francisco is Cosmopolitan City with World Class hotels very well known around the world. Hotels such as St Francis, survived 1906 earthquake and fire, -located rite on famous Union Square, Fairmont, and Mark Hopkins Intercontinental-located on Nob Hill are San Francisco landmarks. San Francisco is a home to numerous tourist class hotels as well international hostels.

Nightlife:
From jazz to salsa, piano bars to soul, Rock n Roll, and Hip Hop to Discos; -the clubs in San Francisco for every age (legal admission is 21years old) and music taste.
Very hard to describe every club in town, but if you visit North Beach, or South of Market areas, I bet you will find the one .

Hangouts:
Irish pubs are the best; -they are located around town basically in every neighborhood. Try Ireland 33 in the Richmond District, The Abbey Tavern also in the Richmond, O’Reilly’s Irish Pub and Kells Irish pubs are located in North Beach.

Restaurants:
It is hard to describe every cuisine in town; -San Francisco is home to more than 3,000.00 restaurants, for every taste and budget from sushi, and Chinese restaurants to Franch, Russian, Italian, German, Cambodian, Mexican and numerous South American cuisines.

Other recommendations:

You capture the City by the Bay nicely. I love my old neighborhood, Haight-Ashbury. I love all of it - the Mission, North Beach, Sunset, Richmond, Portrero Hill, the Castro, Chinatown, et al.

Hi Boris
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the city you're living in, the report would be even better and more interesting with the right pictures so that we can get the right image too.... !
Keep on writing
