Sudack is small but quite popular place for tourists who want to discover new destinations, interested in archeological excavations, geological and other expeditions, wine and champagne, and also Sudack is great place for people seeking romantic views such as Genoa fortress, cape Capsel, etc. Historical info: Sudack was built in A.D. 212 and was named as Sugdey that means clean and holly. In 1475 Sudack was attacked by the Turks and for 300 years Sudack was ruled by them. As a result of was between Russian and Turks Crimean peninsula becomes a part of Russian Empire. In XX century Crimean peninsula was returned back and now it belongs to Ukraine. You can reach town by flying to capital of Crimea Simferopol and than take taxi for $15-35 to Sudack (depends on the season) it will take 1,5-2 hours. Road from Simferopol to Sudack goes through beautiful landscapes. Just before arrival you can see mountain that looks like frog (bear, cat, etc) climbing on top of mountain…

In Sudack you may ask Tour-operators that will provide you information about sport facilities available and their price. As for me I liked horse ridding - it was fantastic! We went through the hills to coast (1,5 hour). At the end of the trip I was surprised by receiving CD with picture of all our way to coast. All this cost 10-15$ per person. If you are interested in climbing mountains, scuba diving, fishing all this available for your pleasure. Moreover you can find interesting combat of knights in Genoa fortress that take place every summer.

Most popular place of Sudack is Genoa fortress build on top of the mountain. In 1475 fortress was taken by Turks. Still you can see holes from the guns at the walls of fortress. On the very top of Genoa fortress located Maiden tower. Legend says that ones upon a time there lived princess that committed suicides rushing into abyss, because she was capped against her will or because she didn’t like her fiancé. Before you enter to Sudack next to the village called Privetnoe at right side of road at top of cape you can see half destroyed tower called Choban-Kale that means Shepherd tower. Tower is surrounded by defensive walls. Its assumed that this tower ones belonged to Genoa feudal lords – brothers di Guasko. They were known fro their cruelty and unwillingness to obey to Sudack’s community.

Noviy Svet is small town next to Sudack. Compare to Sudack Noviy Svet is more expensive.
Noviy Svet is beautiful place with more cleaned beaches. This town is famous for champagne which also called Noviy Svet. I suggest you to try it and take a tour in champagne and wine factory. Especially I was amazed by several km tunnel inside mountain where factory stores its products.

When you enter Sudack don’t be surprised by unhappy,tired people standing next to the road holding posters with strange writing on them. No, no it is not a strike it is a way that people inform tourist that they are offering accommodation. If you stop by they will all rush to you offering their best.
Good if you reserve a hotel. But if not you can find yourself a flat, room or house. It is easy. But be ready to extreme conditions. Be sure that you can survive with wanted that runs only 4 hours a day. Don’t forget to ask your house owner about water supply!
Most expensive periods fo accomodation is mid of July till mid of August.
Some examples: One room flat (for 3 person) can cost you from - 15$ to 45$ per day for a flat, price depends on conditions and month.

|
Sudack has a lot of discos which work all night in an open area. Some of them are for free some you should pay entrance fees which vary from 3$ and over. For this money you may even watch some shows such as light striptease, belly dancing or other entertaining shows. Entertainment programs depend on place.

You may find for yourself a lot of cafés with cheap and tasty food. You may also try Crimean Tatar’s food in their national food cafés(Crimean Tatars are one of the native inhabitants of Crimean peninsula).
I do not suggest you to buy anything from street sellers if you don’t want to spend time in hospital, which is, believe me, not the best place for holiday :).

1)Language: better for you if you have a guide with you who are able to speak Russian or at least phrase book
2)Try to keep your documents in save place, do not take them to a beach
3)Do not buy food from street sellers
4)Do not exchange currency except in bank
5)Take umbrella if you go in summer to Crimea, you might need it.
6)Ask tout operator to arrange you an excursion and ask for discount if you are more than 2 people.

This is a very interesting report. Anyone looking at your opening statement will be ineterested to give attention to this article. It would be nice to see a little bit more depth, but overall this is nice.
