Fully with you on that tip David. We were there at Tavira too and I shall update with pics on that fishing village. From Tavira, with a rented car... one can cruise easily along the highway into Spain and back to the other tip of Portugal in under a jiffy like 2-over hours, we luv the Algarve and recommend others to do try out that stretch.
But here I am, wanting to say and send my greetings from a little up by the sea front from the Hague.
My amazement at the many places you were at and still going strong with your the energy you have... I am going to read which I am certain, will be a thrill to admire your coverage on places that I can understand better and become prepared for our forthcoming journeys after your "voetsporen".
Groetjes vanuit Den Haag.

Marianne,
It really was an interesting place to visit. I only explored the old town with its cobble streets, old stone houses and rebuilt mosques and was fascinated by that. But the town has grown and if I had time would have liked to see a little more although it wasn't as picturesque.
The only thing I didn't mention was that there were a lot of beggars just outside the old town, which was a little scary.

Would you belive that this was the first and only shot that I took. I must say I was very pleased with the way it came out.

HI Marianne,

One can make the long walk , pass through the river Moscow. There is the burial-ground of monuments on the embankment of the river of Moscow. Peter great monument visible is from the burial-ground. To approach the metre the best - the station The park Culture, Oktiabrskaja and to see The gallery Tietriakowską near the opportunity. Nice sightseeing.
I apologize for my English.

Questions

Marianne,
Sorry, I just realised you asked me some questions, but as I was only there a day it was kind of hard to get a feel for hotel prices and public transport.
There is a bus from Dubrovnik that departs from the main bus station at 9.30 am and returns 3pm. Also once there there isn't an extensive public transporation system but there is a train system, but I really don't know as my friends had hired a car.
As they use Euros, you would probably have a better idea, what is a good price and whether it is comparatible. I think a 3 star hotel was around 50 euros.

Marianne,
I really enjoyed visiting Herceg-Novi and hope I get a chance to return; so much so, I've entered a competition where the first prize is a week's vacation to Montenegro and I'm praying that I win. I definitely need more then a day.
'Fingers crossed ey!'

Marianne,
Thanks for the heads up. I was looking at the pictures of Slovenia and it does look like a beautiful place. I hope to see some of your pictures in due course.
Take care
Amanda
PS I've uploaded my picture under the correct Dubrovnik.

Hi Marianne,
No, I was in Jakarta in March; but I'm hoping to return November 2009. I should have more time to explore.
But plans seem to be changing all the time so I'll just play it by ear.
Enjoy the warm weather
