Hieronyma: She is a bookworm, who is not able to let books alone, she is a traveller who travels not to arrive, she is a knitter, who knits to think things over, she is a hiker who hikes to have nature as a counterpart. Who talks to her?

Orkney Islands

Hi Christl,
I can imagine things HAVE indeed changed in 30 years! It sounds like it was a great adventure to get there at that time! You are such a great explorer. You know, UNESCO did not start listing sites until 1978... :)
Kindest regards

I have read your report on the Orkneys and would like to say that it is one of the best reports I have come across since joining Globo, well done, it was fascinating. Tony.

Hi Christl,
I loved the Painted Desert! I've got some nice pre-digi pics of it. ;-)
Weißt du was? There'll be more than 12 ° degrees at the weekend - spring is coming - JUHU!

Thank you for the interesting reply, when I was much younger I did some dangerous things, parachuting from a balloon, driving alone across the entire Atlas mountains and getting married hehe, but I would not drive this road, Kindest Regards, Tony.

Memento mori
Posted: 2009-02-25 09:43 AM
I have used the travels as an instrument, to go to places to learn. Thanks to the travels I have met wise people in inaccessible and remote places who taught me many things about the purpose of life, and seen marvels made by nature and by men.
I do not care about how many times the planet Earth turned around the star Sun since I was born, I mean, about the conditions of my body; but I know that one day it will not be suitable anymore to continue life in this planet, then my soul will fly and will go to another sphere of existence, and there I will continue travelling.

Memento mori

No Christl, I am not in a hurry to travel. I started to travel intensively when I was very young, since I was 13 years old, when I left home for travelling by myself. I visited all the 194 United Nations countries many years ago; I have been practically everywhere.
Now I travel slowly and delightfully, and go back to many places where I was when I was young, or to some islands that I then missed, such as Parece Vela, Macquarie, or Paracel.
