Thanks so much for all the great info on the Inca trail... you make it sound possible, which builds my confidence that I really can do it! If you think of anything else that might be helpful to tell me, you know where I am :-) I'll let you know when I have a departure date, and I hope I'll be able to do a travel log while I'm gone, so you'll know how I'm getting on.

Hi! I was just flipping through the photos here, and noticed your Peru shots... wow! Then I saw that we're both Northern California residents -- practically neighbors (in the greater Bay Area sense, anyway!). It's been a dream of mine since childhood to visit Machu Picchu, and I hope to realize that dream in the next year. Congratulations on your accomplishment, and I welcome any words of advice you may have for me, as a prospective first-time traveler to Central & South America.
