Congratulations for winning the P.o.M. award in July. You have quite a few great pictures. Funny, relations have just flow in from Belize and say your pictures from there are excellent. They also enjoyed scuba, caves and waterfalls galore!

Hi Eire,
thank you for your comment on my report. Syria is a wonderful save country. I only hope - as it is cautiously openeing to the outside world - it will not loose its character. Seydnaya was an exprerience. I came on a sunday and the church was packed with families who wanted to have their small children baptized, what seemed to be great social afffair. The church is sitting on a rock, 1400 m above sea level. You can see it from far away. There is a stone, when you go up the stairs. When a bit of oil is spread upon it, you can see the face of St. Mary, who, so it is the belief, will help, no matter what kind of creed you have. It seems that in this country the different religions are thought of as believing in the same god, no matter how they are named, only the way of worship is different. I hope I make myself understood.
