Bhavan

Hello Marianne,

Thanks for your kind words on my Delhi pictures. The Akshardham temple was the highlight of my trip and is a must see in Delhi.

Bhavan- is a word derived from sanskrit, meaning residence/mansion/home.

Warm Regards from India

B&W pictures

Hi Marianne,

Thanks for all your comments. I initially uploaded them in colour, but found B&W effect very appealing and suited the slideshow I was creating, (even though I mixed in a few colour ones as well).

But I think it works.

Thanks for your congratulations, I was very happy to win the AoM award. Until the next slide show it will take it's time.

Hi Marianne

Thank you for your kind words, we are all very happy and proud of our little daughter.

Mia likes her very much but has some problems getting adjusted with the situation in the night... But she likes to hold her and caress her.

Oh yes this picture you mentioned is really one of my favourites too. A picture of Alani and Mia will sure follow.

Alani isn't a Swiss name at all and really not common. Most people haven't heard it at all before. I found it on the Internet in a discussion forum. It's Hawaiian and means Orange Tree. Her second name is Brea and this one is Gaelic and means beauty beyond sight. I found them both fitting.

Once again thanks a lot.

I'm so glad that some of my photos brings back some fond memories of Malaysia to you. I find your reports most inspiring and I hope to visit those places that you've mentioned in your reports.

As time is rather scarce for me these days, writing a report takes much longer than expected.

I'm off to Bangkok tomorrow for a short getaway.

Cheers,
Farizan.

Fish River Canyon

Marianne,

Alas and alack, I didn't complete the 5-day walk; I was on a 19 day tour, without the ability to deviate.

I did walk the rim and that was very enjoyable.

Thanks for stopping by.

Marianne,
Thanks so much - I was inspired by the beauty of this country! I was so glad that we took the car rather than flying because it gave us such a wonderful window to this world.

I am working on three reports - Udiapur, Jodhpur and Jaipur. Eventually I will get to Delhi and Agra too. I wish I had more time!

Cameron Highlands.

Posted: 2006-10-31 11:10 AM
Hi Marianne,

Thanks for signing my guestbook. I remembered Cameron Highlands to be a nice cool resort but that was from 5 years ago. Things have changed dramatically and the uncontrolled development in the name of agro tourism have destroyed much of the beauty of the highlands.

Back then the only prominant plantation were the Cameron Tea Plantations and there was still much greenery surrounding the Cameron valley. Today Blue valley is just filled with vegetable farms. Its a real eye sore. I think no matter how many 5* hotels they have up there, Camerons have lost its appeal.

At least both of us had experienced some of Camerons beauty in the past.

Cheers,
Farizan.

yes, we have three days, ramadan or seker bayrami, started today:) I really felt different while we were having breakfast after a month, I can see sugars, sweets, deserts everywhere but try to avoid most of them but small kids are going around and collecting sweets from the neighbours, wish you were here and taste our culture maybe one day, take care..

Yes, back to the daily routine!

My trip was fantastic, Bhutan as well as the Everest Base Camp!
In Bhutan we had a bit of rain, and Kathmandu was very cloudy the first few days, but never mind. My photos of Buthan will come in about a week time. I will upload a few on Kathmandu first. (start with less good one, I keep the best for later!!)
Reports will come soon, and photos as well.
I went up to 5.600m the view was really great, I saw Everest very closed up, it was really nice (and cold!).

Your report , was (as always!) was really nice, glad you had a good time!
Where are off next? Anywhere exciting?

See you, take care
Isabelle
