No problem
Posted: 2008-09-24 12:32 PM
Hi Amanda,
Funny thing is, I didn't even realise at first as the first photo I looked at was the 'cathedral' one and I thought it was a view of the Peruvian mountains!
Finally getting some time to work a bit more on my site. I had such a busy summer - not travel-wise but work-wise. Haven't been anywhere since Mexico in May apart from visiting my hometown in Germany for a week at the beginning of September for its 750-year celebrations.
Off to spend some time in the mountains of Mallorca in a couple of weeks time, after that no plans as yet, might have to put travelling a bit on the backburner for a few months.
All the best

Hi Amanda,
They are great pictures, but somehow they have ended up being in Peru!
Will rate them when you have fixed the problem.
best wishes

I am keen to get to the Antrim coast some time but looking at the weather forecast, it seems rarely to have fine weather. What time of year do you suggest - I don't want to find huge crowds either.
Cheers

Hi Amanda,
thank you very much for your nice comment about our snapshot. I really admire your huge stunning gallery particularly the portraits from Botswana.
Kind regards from Germany - Petra

Russia

I have seen a word that you might be reconsidering of going to Russia, like to not going anymore. I have just came back from Russia. When travelling I was completely ignorant of what was going on in the world. It took my mum to text me on my mobile to break the news to me.
Of course it depends on where you were planning to go and I do not know your reasons for reconsidering, but I just want to say that it is still exciting to visit the country. :) Uh, but Cambodia is lovely, too! Yeah! You would probably need to go via Bangkok, which is currently in serious trouble... but if you just jump plains, then it would not matter.
Kind regards,

Plane crash in Central Asia
Posted: 2008-08-25 05:28 AM
Hi Amanda,
In July, there was an explosion at an arms depot in the Bukhara region, but still rather far from the city.
On 24 August, one week after I took off, there was a plane crash at the Bishkek's Manas International Airport. It was a 1979 Boeing 737 aircraft of Itek Air taking off to Mashhad in Iran. It killed 65 of its 123 passengers.
I knew about the several black listed airlines of Central Asia (Itak Air is banned from the EU, and so are the several Kyrgyz airlines), but I was safe on my bmi's 757 plane.
It is always horrific when a plane crashes.
Best regards,
Krys
