Salt mines
Posted: 2005-12-07 09:22 PM
Your pictures of the salt mines seems similar to the ones I visited in Austria.. They are quite claustrophobic yet extremely interesting aren't they? I could totally feel how the miners must of felt so many centuries ago.
Talk to you soon

cassowary

Hi Misty,,
Kalz Here. About the Cassowary. I did not see any bird in the actual wild, snapped the pic at the Australia Tropical Zoo, just outside of Cairns. If only I could have seen one in the wild,, but I believe that is rare,, and the best chance of seeing one in its natural habitat is deeper to the north, and a little to the south of here ( cairns ) where numbers are still holding on.
Thanks for visiting me, your site looks neat!

Holocaust Museum
Posted: 2005-12-02 05:07 PM
Misty,
Reading your travel log entry, I was reminded of how I felt at the Holocaust Museum in Washingtong, DC. There is a display of boots and shoes. Just boots and shoes, millions of them from different death camps but in every size and shape. It brought home the enormity of the Holocaust for me. I was haunted for days by the experience. But I think we are supposed to be ~ that is what makes us human and makes that tragedy inhuman.
