Hi folks, I became an early pensioner in 2015 and now have a 50m² apartment in München-Laim with sunny balcony. This is the first time in my life that I am living alone. Now enjoy my hobbies!

Hi Rudi,
it's interesting to read your + David's + Rafal's comment regarding my sunset picture. Thank you very much for that! Well, for me this picture is just a memory of a great evening in an unbelievable surrounding. But I'm pleased if you like it, too.
Thanks again + have a nice weekend
Christian
By the way: What are you doing at 4 am in front of your computer - do you need advice for a better sleep? :-)

Ancient Olympia in flames!
Posted: 2007-08-26 06:13 AM
A small taste of the disaster here in Greece is that right now, flames are surrounding the ancient theatre of Olympia where the first Olympic Games were held! Very symbolic! Surviving through the centuries but not being able to escape the human evil!

Disaster!
Posted: 2007-08-26 02:08 AM
Hi and thanks for commenting on my photos!
With more than 50% of the country on fire, I don't have much to say anymore! My country is facing a total ecological and economical disaster. Ancient Olympia is surrounded by 3 different fires. A great effort is being made to save it. Dozens of villages are totaly burned. Hundreds of homeless people. Peloponissos is covered by flames living nothing than deaths and ashes behind. It brings tears to see the burned forrests, the burned mountains, the burned hearts. There's nothing to be seen there anymore. No living tree will remain! At least, we have memories of these places, something that cannot be said for the next generations. In June, my home really got burned too, from a big fire in Athens that destroyed an entire protected national park. I wonder when man will stop destroying nature!
Hope for the best!

Your wonderful care....

Rudi,
Thank you for your wonderful care of me and my trip to Egypt! I will heed your advice - I feel safer with a driver or a guide, even with a son along. I will probably follow up with either Martin's or Ta-Shy's reference for tour companies. Amanda gave me one too.
I will error on the side of caution - especially since I have a child (okay, young teen) along!
Thanks!

Hello Rudi. No problem. Have been coming here for 24 years and lived here for 2 years now. I travel frequently as well and am planning to head up to Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos in a few days from now and will be able to offer some info there as well. Cheers, Rachamim

Cracow

Hi Rudi,
Thanks for your commend on my report. Very good hint to add the Cracow's original name. I decided to upload it as Cracow, because this name is more widespread outside Poland, I think.

I agree with you. I think it's not difficult to identify a number of members, not all even on the front page yet, who will eventually score Google points way ahead of anybody so far.
I know some of them will pass us before very long - but let's not make it too easy! It's so enjoyable to read great reports that the more they have to write to overtake us, the better.
Cheers
David
