Your new album

Hi Petra,
I really like your album on your home county. It looks thoroughly inviting! I once went to Freiburg, but could not stop in Heidelberg, although had heard about its charm...
Kindest regards

The horses could find footing in the quagmire of the marshes around Kortrijk. Contrary to the custom at the time (asking for a ransom for all those knights) we killed them (all 1500 of them) and collected their Golden Spurs. As you can see, we were good fighters. Unfortunately our reading abilities lacked finesse: two years later we signed a treaty in which we lost everything we had won. But 11 July is the Flemish independence day and in 2002 (700 years after the battle) we acquired the status of Cultural Capital of Europe. PS: one of those men may not have taken part!

Hoi,
Glad I can help (I'm also a tourist guide in Brugge). They are two of the common people (actually, members of the guild of the weavers and of the butchers) who played an important part in the revolt against the king of France in 1302 (who had, again, for some reason or other, occupied Brugge with his troops). At the sound of Matins one nice May morning, the supporters of the king were attacked in their houses and killed. Of course, the king wanted revenge, and sent his army. The battle took place on 11 July 1302 in Kortrijk. The flower of the French army (mainly cavalry) was then defeated by the commoners and those supporting the Count of Flanders.

Hey Petra,
I was just saying to Eire that I'm feeling a little homesick.
After six months with all that beauty around me, it seems a little disappointing to be back in London.
I had to share my feeling, glad you liked the slideshow.

Hallo Petra!
Thanks for your comment on my profile pic.
My partner took it on the train here in London and it seemed quite fitting as we won't be doing much travelling this year apart from a couple of trips back home to Germany and a long weekend in Muenchen (we're going to a wedding in Starnberg).
Well. there's always next year.

What a lovely surprise to find your comment on the Nun's walk. I was just preparing an album of spring at Altamount.
It is early morning , one would expect you to be asleep.!!
I see you have forestalled my sylvan walk with your Odenwald picture in February.
I wwish you a very peaceful night and a very evocative summer dawn,

Hi Petra,
Sorry for replying late, but lately I am bit busy at work...
You are right 835 kilometers are not so close... But I agree with you that Baltic shore is much more surprising than we are expecting (Ruggen adn Mons Island are good example, also in Poland we have wonderful beaches there).
And about my travel plans - yes three trips are almost ready - in two weeks I am going to Lviv and then some trips in June and August. And what about your trips ?
Take care
Rafał
