We stayed a couple of days to rest after our tour from Darwin to Broome through the Kimberley. Next on our list would be to travel to Perth. Read about it on my site. Now, I could just copy the Lonely Planet guide on all the good places etc. but then again ... Our main stay was to be one of the luxurious hotels here. After 7 nights camping in the bush this is a welcome change. We tried to shop for pearls here, but we could not decide between the cheapish tourist stuff or the way too expensive real juwelery. We finally bought nothing, to spend our money on a piece of opal at Coober Pedy. We strolled around the town, found out that it's a small town and then went for the pub for some refreshing drinks. oh... the sign is not actually found outside of our hotel, but can be found just a couple of meters down the road to town.

Favourite spots: |
Cable Beach: definitly our best beachexperience down under... After our long and tiring trip to Broome our guide stopped at a drive through bottleshop, we all had a chance to get something wet and fizzie here, and enjoy it watching a sunset on the beach.

What's really great: |
Special things we did over here was go and look for Perls. Broome has a large Perl industry

|
Sights: |
Cable Beach

|
Other recommendations: |
Besides Cable beach you can try and go shopping for pearls. This place is famous for it... But be aware, it's a bit of a tourist trap. And, off course, Broome is one of the better places to start or end a tour through the Kimberley region.
