Located on the eastern side of Saudi Arabia (near to Bahrain) Al Khobar city is commerical centre of Eastern province .This city is full of shopping malls and lightings. I am writing this report as I know that it is very very difficult for people to come to this place. Also I WOULD LIKE TO SAY AT THIS POINT IS TAKING PICS IS A GREAT RISK IN SAUDI ARABIA ,as one doesnt know when the police can come and put you behind bars.

Favourite spots: |
Well I liked the khobar shopping malls, nice parks and one can find almost every thing specially in electronics. I think this city was build keeping in mind Dubai and its buisness. Roads are nice and traffic is very less .
What's really great: |
Well the whole region is almost desert ,but there is so much plantation and greenery that some times I was amazed to see it. Another surprising thing is ..the out look of area changes so fast that one couldnt imagine. You will see total dry area one day and next day you will see flowers and dates trees all around. Lots of ready made stuffs are used every where.
Sights: |
Khobar has nice beaches and shoppings malls ,theme parks but I dont have pictures of them with me.
Accommodations: |
There are so many hotels and flats available in this area, and the charges are nominal around riyals 100 to 200 per day for double room.(one usdollar=3.75 riyals approx) Hotel sharq and shalimar are nice.
Nightlife: |
i dont have any ides abt that
Hangouts: |
sorry no pubs here
Restaurants: |
One can find small bufias [Arabic name for Tea shops] every where. You can get the snacks and sandwiches..etc
Other recommendations: |
Others spots are the Industrial city which looks like a city of lights in night.

Hi ravi,
This is country I would love to visit because I am interested in the Arab world. For the time being I don't see ourselves visiting Saudi Arabia. That's why I enjoyed reading this report and i especially liked the photos as they give me some idea of what the country looks like.
