My impressions of London vary greatly. I have been there twice - once in summer and once in winter. Summer was great (there was a 'heat wave') and winter was terrible - never been so cold in my life! Plenty to see of course - the river, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street, the underground, red buses, black taxis, rain, magnificent galleries and museums and all the other London institutions.

Favourite spots: |
St James Park (near Buckingham Palace), Hyde Park, Kensington, Covent Garden and Regents Park.
What's really great: |
Wandering along on my own with not a care in the world and just watching the busyness of the city - the city never sleeps.
Sights: |
The museums and art galleries are among the best in the world and absolutely awesome. The pigeons in Trafalgar are something else - disgusting!
Other recommendations: |
Not really a city person and preferred spending my time in the surrounding countryside.
