I currently live in Sydney - moving soon - but I love it. It's the most beautiful city I have ever been to. Very civilised and tons to do and see. Excellent eating out over all price ranges, tons of opportunities to explore by walking around the Harbour foreshore. The pylon walk on the Harbour Bridge has spectacular, uninterrupted views of the city and Harbour.

Favourite spots: |
The Harbour, Circular Quay, The Rocks, the far Northern beaches like Palm Beach and Bilgola and millions of other places. Walking across the Harbour Bridge.

What's really great: |
The ferry rides all over the Harbour. It is a truly beautiful place and the ferries are the best way to see it. Also the snorkelling at the pool at Clovelly - very special. Blue Mountains are also very worth seeing - especially by taking one of the thousands of walks through the valleys (overnight where possible).

|
Restaurants: |
Best food in Australia - everything under the sun in all price ranges.
|
|
Other recommendations: |
The Harbour - catch a ferry and enjoy it up close - or walk around the edges on many walking tracks - Spit to Manly for example (absolutely marvellous).
