Piste is a village that is located about 1 km from the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza. The city has become a popular spot for the tourists that visit the park. Chichen Itza is considered to have been the capital of the Mayan Empire, that existed from about 500 AD until about 1500 AD. These ruins are open for tours on a daily basis from about 0800 - 1700 hours. The cost of the tours is about $10 (USD).

Anything in the park is worthy of study. It is possible to visit the park for 10 days in a row, look at different sites each day, and still not understand everything in the park.
